In addition to defending against shots from close range, the goalkeepers learn in this exercise to adjust to a 1 vs. 1 situation.
Pro-Tip by Peter Rasch
As a rule, a defender rushes to the rescue in 1 on 1 situations in competition. If the attacker now also feels pressure from the goalkeeper, because he has moved close, the attacker feels stress. This is the moment when the attacker becomes imprecise in the end.
If the goalkeeper does not move forward, so that the attacker does not feel the stress moment, a defense becomes difficult.
With passion and attention to detail, we've transfered our best drills into a unique and world-class set of training programmes designed to help experienced goalkeeper coaches and ambitious club coaches.
If it's my father who brings the action, I provide the educational basis for a successful development of young goalkeepers. We've put our complete knowledge into this platform – I hope you enjoy it!
